About Mr. Glotfelty
I grew up in Maryland near Deep Creek Lake, but some of my family is from Baltimore and have always had a connection to the city growing up. I attended the University of Maryland - College Park for Biology and then attended Johns Hopkins University for my Masters in Education. I have been teaching science in Baltimore City for the past three years at Curtis Bay Elementary Middle School.
In 2011, I was named Curtis Bay's Teacher of the Year in my first year of teaching. In 2012, I won the award for Robotics Teacher of the Year for the BCPSS Summer School Program. In 2013, I was awarded Baltimore City's Early Career Teacher of the Year.
Fun Facts:
- I play bass guitar.
- I own a telescope that is 5 feet tall.
- I have one sister and two brothers.
- I traveled to Zion National Park this past summer to hike. I have also hiked Mt. Kilimanjaro, the tallest mountain in Africa.
